The West Michigan CPCU Society Chapter Board is comprised of elected members that have the responsibility of developing, maintaining, and determining the direction of the chapter. In addition to the daily operations the board members also oversee the new member and new candidate on-boarding, ethics awareness, social responsibility, and good work efforts.

Alissa Jinks

Alissa Jinks is a Personal Lines Underwriting Specialist for Farmers Insurance Specialty Lines. She joined Farmers Insurance in 2007 and has experience in customer service, sales, and underwriting. Alissa is a graduate of Cornerstone University and completed her CPCU designation in 2017. In her spare time, Alissa enjoys reading, games, crafts, and spending time with her husband and three children.

Jen Rushlo

Jen Rushlo started in the insurance industry at the age of 19 working during summers and breaks while attending MSU. She has spent time on the agency side and the carrier side in Claims, Underwriting, Product Management, and is currently the manager for the State Filings and Forms Management teams at Foremost/Farmers Specialty. She has her MBA, as well as CPCU, CIC, and AIC designations.

Kim Ward

Kim has been active in the property-casualty insurance business for over 30 years, with an emphasis on property casualty rate making and product development. Currently, Kim is the Director of Actuarial Services at Hastings Mutual Insurance Company where she provides ratemaking leadership for personal and commercial lines.
Kim is active in the CAS and Western Michigan CPCU Chapter, serving as treasurer. She is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries. She earned her CPCU in 2013.

Mae Barth

Mae Barth began her career in the insurance industry in 2010 after leaving her first career as a high school math teacher. She started at Farmers insurance as a claims adjuster in the RV Claims department. She then moved to Casualty Line Underwriting before taking her current position in Foremost Property Product as a product manager. She has a bachelor’s degree in mathematics, a master’s degree in data analytics, and earned her CPCU designation in 2021.

Andrew Bauchan is a Property Staff Underwriter for Farmers Insurance. He has worked at Farmers for 13 years as a sales agent and underwriter. He completed his CPCU in May of 2012 and recently received his MBA through Olivet College. Andrew enjoys spending time with his wife and their daughter, along with reading, continuing insurance education, running and sports.

Roger Weise

Roger Weise is currently an underwriting manager at Farmers Insurance. He started in insurance at Michigan Millers Mutual and has been at Farmers Insurance for 25 years. He is an Olivet College grad and also received his MBA from Olivet College. He has two children and enjoys photography, traveling, attending concerts and sporting events, and spending time with his family and friends.

Beau Barnum is a Commercial Lines Underwriter Executive at Michigan Insurance Company working with local agencies in the Grand Rapids and Lansing areas.
His background consists of E&S Wholesale/MGA Underwriting with AmWINS Brokerage of MI for over 10 years prior to MIC. Beau is a graduate of Olivet College where he was an active participant in Gamma Iota Sigma and continues to support their program and related activities. He enjoys the outdoors, sports, and spending time with his family, which includes his wife and 3 children.
