President's 2016 Year End Newsletter

Greetings and Happy Holidays,

As 2016 comes to a close, I want to say thank you to all of you for your commitment to our West Michigan CPCU chapter. This year our chapter was able to host excellent speakers with pertinent topics to our day to day operations in the insurance industry. We have received frequent amounts of feedback that you all enjoyed the speakers and the topics were of great interest to you. Moreover, our chapter was able to give back to our community through the Ronald McDonald Foundation, Lymphoma & Leukemia society, by supporting our local school jazz band and in many other ways too. It is through your commitment that the West Michigan Chapter has grown exponentially in membership commitments and we will continue to look for ways to provide information relevant to our industry in an efficient and fun fashion. This year we held a Founders Brewery tour, tasting and networking event and we will look to build on these types of events for 2017 and moving forward. If you have ideas of events we can do as a local chapter to bring folks together and learn about relevant topics within our industry, please do share them with the board members within the group. Whether it is during a chapter meeting, a phone call or through e-mail, we want to hear from you. Our strength as a chapter is through membership involvement and I want to encourage you to challenge yourself to take on a new role within the chapter for 2017. We are implementing a number of task forces to help allocate duties throughout the year and we can certainly find a position for you that would be relevant to the skills you are looking to build on all while helping lead the chapter in a forward moving direction.  So as you are making those 2017 New Year’s resolutions think about the West Michigan CPCU chapter and perhaps, make it a resolution to volunteer more, provide education through a discussion or determine ways you can assist the chapter in building up the local community. We want to wish you all a very safe, Happy Holidays and Happy New Year!

See you in 2017,

John Mullen, MBA, CPCU, AAI

President West MI CPCU
