Dear Western Michigan CPCU Chapter Members,

We hope that you and your families are safe and persevering through this pandemic. It is hard to believe September is here and with that comes the extra challenge of children returning to school. As we continue to navigate this unprecedented time, we wanted to reach out and let you know how our chapter is doing. We were unable to hold our annual golf outing and will be hosting virtual meetings for the remainder of the year due to COVID-19. It is sad that we will not be able to meet in person but the Board feels this is the best situation for all.

We are planning on hosting three webinars for the remainder of the year. We’ll look to have these on our regularly scheduled third Tuesday of each month for September, October and November. Details for the topics and speakers at each meeting will be emailed to the Chapter. We will plan on having a conferment with our new designees in October and a charitable organization as part of our good works initiative in November. Again, more news to come as we get closer.

As I previously mentioned we were not able to have our annual golf outing this year which we use to raise scholarship money. In lieu of this we will be asking for donations from Chapter members at our virtual meeting. We will try to offer a few scholarships for 2021. We were able to offer three $500 scholarships to students this year. We know that times are tough for everyone but please consider donating to this worthy cause.

Again, we know these are very difficult and ever changing times for us all. Please don’t forget to utilize some of the resources available to you. Stay safe out there.

Andrew Bauchan
Western Michigan CPCU Chapter President
